Nuu Yim

A lost kitten who played with a dry leaf in our Bangkok garden until we let him in. Independent, clever, and the only cat who ever obeyed me.

Nuu Yim

Nuu Yim was a homeless kitten living in our garden in Bangkok. We think he wandered away from home and got lost. We asked the neighbors, and some suspected he came from a litter down the street, but nobody claimed him or wanted him. So we began to feed him.

At first he was afraid of us. When we were in the garden he hid. But from inside the house we would watch him through the window, playing in the garden with a dry leaf for a toy.

We fell in love with him, and as we kept leaving food out, we earned his trust. Now and then a bigger neighborhood cat would come to harass him. For his safety, we let him live inside the house. From that point on he was our cat.

Yim is independent and very clever. Fully grown, he would sometimes get into fights with other cats if we let him outside. But if Yim was in a fight, I could always get his attention and order him home, and he would listen to me.

Unfortunately, we had to move Yim from our Bangkok home to one of the kennels in Chiang Rai. I don’t think he has enough space there, and he’s not the same cat he once was. We hope to save enough to expand the kennels so all the cats can have more room and be happier.
